  •  Great as an assembly resource
  •   Or a music lesson prompt
  •   A fascinating set of slides to learn something new about music in all its sounds, shapes and forms!

" Thanks so much for providing this great resource. Over the last 14 months, I have been trying to widen the diversity of the listening materials I use in school. This resource will literally save me hours of my time researching suitable composers/performers and will be so useful. "

Join us for a musical tour around the world. Discover music and instruments you never knew existed, and learn about the many different ways in which music is created, composed, performed and delivered.

"I LOVE this!! Thank you so much.
I cannot believe this resource is free. I have loved learning about Aziza and being introduced to new music is always so refreshing. I will certainly be working these resources into my lessons and assemblies.

From songs in Arabic to learning how to pronounce ‘Zarathustra’, come with us to discover so many different corners of the world:

  • Visit Japan to watch some Taiko drumming
  • Fly across to a country in West Africa called The Gambia to discover all about the Kora
  • Follow our spotlight on people who use alternative ways to play their instruments
  • Pop into a shopping centre in Leeds on a Saturday afternoon to learn about ‘ostinato’
  • Catch up with the cellist Yo Yo Ma playing a musical game of ‘copycats’ with Hoots on Sesame Street
  •  Spend some time in the children’s section of the WOMAD festival.

You could even think about creating your very own musical instrument when you see what we have to offer in our ‘U is for… Unusual Instruments!’

This really is a treasure trove of musical diversity just waiting for you to dive straight in!

"I look after my 5-year-old grandson a couple of days each week, and I somehow came across your alphabet when I was looking for some musical learning that we could do together.

I love the way you've structured this so that it appeals to all age-groups. I've already learned so much from this and we're only on letter H!

I really do look forward to receiving the fortnightly emails with the link to the next letter.

Thanks for all the hard work that must have gone into this.

With best wishes from a very grateful Granny!
